Starting in Loans in Ayrshire, this walk provides both inland and coastal sections.

Having parked inland, the walk heads west towards the beach and a pleasant sandy walk in the direction of Prestwick. Following a fingerpost which heads back inland over a golf course, the route picks up the waymarked path of The Smugglers Trail, before returning to the starting point.
