You will need to wear comfortable old clothes: a blouse or shirt; a woollen jumper; a spare woollen jumper unless it is very hot; trousers in wool, man-made fibre, corduroy or cotton; one thick or two thin pairs of woollen socks; boots and a waterproof anorak and trousers The following are also useful: a hat and gloves in winter; and a change of clothes, including soft shoes, to leave in the car if it looks very wet. You will need to bring something to eat for lunch and a chocolate bar or biscuit for emergencies; a hot drink in winter and plenty of cold drink in summer; and a rucksack. We usually go for a reasonably-priced supper afterwards.
