Saturday, August 8th: Ardrossan to Portencross

Starting at Ardrossan, this walk follows the Ayrshire Coastal Path to Portencross where there is a 14 th century castle.

The Ayrshire Coastal Path is a long-distance path of 106 miles, but this section is about 6.5 miles and provides, on a good day, good view across the Firth of Clyde to the mountains of Arran.

Depending on tides, there will be plenty of pleasant beach walking as we head north to through the village of Seamill and then on to Ardneil Bay with its pink sands. The walk ends at Portencross and we return to the starting point by bus.
